About Media Control GfK

Media Control GfK is a joint venture formed by Media Control and GfK to create the single, most comprehensive, accurate, multi-format, entertainment data source for Europe and Asia. Media Control GfK leads its field in collecting and reporting international, point-of sale data for entertainment media, such as DVD and games software, music, and books in Austria, Japan, Australia, Netherlands, Belgium, New Zealand, France, Portugal, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Hungary, Spain, Italy, and Switzerland. Currently Media Control GfK is expanding further into Eastern Europe and Latin America. It is an affiliate of GfK’s Retail and Technology group.

Launched in 2003, Media Control GfK provides the company’s media and entertainment clients the international data and analysis they need to make informed decisions in today’s rapidly-changing entertainment media environment. It specializes in tracking international data and identifying emerging trends on entertainment product. Media Control GfK has offices in over 15 countries, providing clients both local and global expertise.

Established by German music chart pioneer Karlheinz Kögel in 1976, Media Control provides analytical data for the entertainment industry. Media Control has a subsidiary called Chart-Radio.de through which users can observe the weekly charts, and both listen to and download a great variety of music.
